Snow and slow around Marylebone

Snow and slow around Marylebone

Can’t say the snow is deep and crisp and even round here, more nasty, slushy and icy. However, a few brave souls continue to be visible and some key takeaways continue to function, especially the smaller family owned enterprises. How many will survive, I wonder? These cafes are what give Marylebone its character and indeed charm, rather than the fast food outlets, besieged by dozens of delivery drivers. How good do burgers and lattes really taste once dispatched in freezing temperatures in rucksacks and delivered tepid and tasteless some time later? Much better to check out Chiltern Street – https://www.portmanmarylebone.com/chiltern-street/index.html – and its idiosyncratic delis. Or indeed Paul Rothe & Son in Marylebone Lane.
